Oshkosh pandemic diary April 11: Why the state and county report different numbers

Winnebago County Health Department
For the third straight day the number of positive tests in Winnebago County remained at 24, the Health Department said Saturday afternoon.

The county’s daily report does not include data from the city of Menasha or the city of Appleton, which both extend into other jurisdictions. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services lists another case in Winnebago for a total of 25, which is apparently from the county part of one of those two municipalities.

Separately DHS reported a statewide increase of 145 cases to a total of 3,213. The number of Wisconsin residents who have died from COVID-19 rose by nine to 137 as of Saturday afternoon, DHS said.
