Another Winnebago County resident, apparently a woman in her 30s, has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 17 as of Thursday evening.

The county's updated breakdown of patients by age and gender shows that five of the patients are in their 50s, and one is over 80. Three are in their 40s, and three are in their 30s. Two are in their 60s, and two their 70s. One is between 20 and 29.

Seven are female, and six male.

The number of negative tests rose to 263, an increase of 31 from the day before, according to the county Health Department.

The number of pending tests fell by two to 135.

The county said the count does not include data from the city of Menasha or the city of Appleton, which both extend into other jurisdictions.

Separately the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported a statewide increase of 180 cases to 1,730. A total of 31 Wisconsin residents have died from COVID-19.

School meal program expanded to weekends

The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) has expanded its free grab-and-go meal program to include weekends.

Weekend meals will be distributed on Fridays, including three days worth of food. There will be no weekend meal distribution sites.

Instead recipients must visit an OASD meal distribution site (school or neighborhood) on Friday to receive food for the weekend. For a listing of OASD meal distribution sites and additional information on the program, visit https://www.oshkosh.k12.wi.us/families/at-home-learning/free-meals.

The school district continues to seek financial donations to provide free grab-and-go meals to entire families and community members. While the district receives federal funding for feeding students, it is not reimbursed for any meals given to a student’s parent/guardian or non-school-aged siblings. Social distancing measure remains “A-”

As of Thursday Winnebago County residents are maintaining their social distancing score of “A-”, according to an analysis from Unacast, a company that specializes in GPS-based location data.

As of 11:32 a.m., the company said it detected a 55 to 70% change in average mobility based on distance traveled, which equates to a “B,” and a greater than 70% change in nonessential visits, which equates to an “A.”
